Editorial Standards

How we research and write.

PrayBreak™ writes for men in a real fight, on a topic where hype and shame both sell better than truth. These are the standards every piece of content on this site is held to.

Faith-first, research-honest

Our content is written for Christian men and is unapologetically biblical. It is also honest about what research does and doesn't show. We always distinguish the two: “Scripture says…” for conviction, and “research suggests…” for science. One is never dressed up as the other.

Primary sources, cited in full

Claims about the science of porn, compulsion, and recovery cite peer-reviewed research — named authors, years, and links in each post's “Sources & Further Reading” section. Where findings are contested (and in this field, many are), we say so and cite both sides rather than the convenient one.

No diagnosis inflation

We do not claim “porn addiction” is a formal medical diagnosis — it is not in the DSM-5. The ICD-11 recognises Compulsive Sexual Behaviour Disorder (6C72) as an impulse-control disorder, and our content reflects that distinction. We avoid recycled myths — no “rewires your brain like cocaine,” no overstated erectile dysfunction claims, no unproven “reboot” science.

Conflict of interest, disclosed

PrayBreak makes an app in the category we write about. Every comparison we publish says so plainly, and our app roundup recommends competitors where they are genuinely the better fit. Outbound links to commercial products carry rel="nofollow"— we reference them; we don't trade endorsements.

Freshness and corrections

Posts display their published and updated dates. Pricing and competitor facts are re-checked when we materially revise a post. If we get something wrong, we correct the text and update the “Updated” date — silently patching errors without a date change is not something we do. Corrections can be sent to support@praybreak.app.

Where our limits are

We are not clinicians, and our content is not medical advice — see the full medical disclaimer. Posts touching mental health carry an inline disclaimer and the 988 crisis line.
