Important Safety Warning — Read Before Using
Photosensitivity: A small percentage of people may experience seizures, blackouts, dizziness, or disorientation when exposed to moving visual patterns, even with no prior history. If you have epilepsy, a photosensitive condition, or a history of seizures — or if you experience any of these symptoms — stop using the visual (LOOK) exercises immediately and consult a doctor. You can disable the LOOK section in Settings.
Physical activity: The MOVE section involves physical movement, including kneeling and pushing against a wall. Perform these only in a safe space, using solid, stable structures — never glass, mirrors, windows, or unstable surfaces — and only within your own physical ability. Consult a physician before beginning, stop immediately if you feel pain or dizziness, and understand that you perform these activities entirely at your own risk. You can disable the MOVE section in Settings.
By creating an account and using PrayBreak, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these risks and voluntarily accept them, and you agree to the assumption of risk, disclaimers, and limitation of liability set out below.
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the PrayBreak application and related services (“PrayBreak,” the “App”). By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
Please read the health and risk disclaimers below carefully. They limit what PrayBreak is, and what we are responsible for.
1. Acceptance of These Terms
By creating an account or using the App, you confirm that you can form a binding contract, that you meet the eligibility requirements below, and that you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference.
2. PrayBreak Is Not Medical or Professional Care
PrayBreak is a Christian self-help and spiritual discipline tool. It is not a medical service, not therapy or counseling, and not a medical device. Nothing in the App constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and the App does not create a doctor-patient, therapist-client, or pastoral counseling relationship.
PrayBreak does not replace care from qualified professionals. For medical, psychological, or psychiatric concerns — including compulsive behavior, addiction, or mental-health struggles — consult a licensed professional.
If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, do not use the App for help — contact your local emergency services or a crisis line immediately.
3. Assumption of Risk and No Guarantee
You expressly acknowledge, understand, and voluntarily agree that:
- Results vary from person to person, and we make no guarantee of abstinence, recovery, or any particular outcome.
- Tracking, logging, and reflecting on urges may surface difficult emotions; you use these features at your own discretion.
- The visual (LOOK) exercises and the physical (MOVE) exercises carry inherent risks — including seizure, injury, or property damage — as described in the Safety Warning above and in the sections below, and you knowingly and voluntarily assume those risks.
- PrayBreak is not a clinical or treatment program and cannot replace professional care.
- You are solely responsible for your choices, your actions, and your physical environment when using the App.
- To the fullest extent permitted by law, you waive and release PrayBreak and its owners, employees, and partners from any and all claims arising from your use of the App — including claims relating to relapse, emotional distress, mental-health outcomes, seizures, physical injury, or property damage.
By creating an account and continuing to use PrayBreak, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted this assumption of risk.
4. Content Blocking and Screen Time
PrayBreak offers optional tools to help you block adult websites and distracting apps. These tools rely on Apple’s Screen Time and related device features, which you enable by granting permission through a system prompt.
Some restrictions — such as blocking adult websites — must be configured manually by you, following the instructions we provide, because they live inside your own device settings. You are responsible for setting up and maintaining these restrictions.
These tools are aids, not guarantees. Their effectiveness depends on your device, your settings, and features provided by Apple that are outside our control. We do not guarantee that any website, app, or content will be blocked, filtered, or made inaccessible, and we are not responsible for content you are able to reach. You remain responsible for your own choices.
5. Physical Activities and Exercises (the MOVE Section)
The MOVE section suggests simple physical actions — such as standing, walking, kneeling, or pushing against a wall — to help you reset in the moment. These activities involve inherent risks, including the risk of injury or property damage.
You are responsible for performing any activity safely and within your own physical ability, in a safe environment, and using only solid, stable structures. For example, when an exercise involves pushing against a wall, use a sturdy, secure wall — never glass, mirrors, windows, or unstable surfaces.
Consult a physician before beginning any physical activity, particularly if you have any medical condition, injury, or physical limitation, or if you are pregnant. Stop immediately if you feel pain, dizziness, or discomfort. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you assume all risk arising from these activities, and PrayBreak is not liable for any injury, harm, or property damage that results from them. If these activities are not appropriate for you, you can disable the MOVE section in Settings.
6. Visual and Eye-Movement Exercises (the LOOK Section)
The LOOK section includes on-screen visual and eye-movement exercises that use moving elements. If you have epilepsy, a photosensitive condition, a history of seizures, or any visual or neurological condition, or if you experience discomfort, dizziness, eye strain, or nausea, discontinue use and consult a qualified professional. Use these exercises at your own discretion. You can disable the LOOK section in Settings.
7. Accessibility and Feature Controls
We want PrayBreak to be usable by as many people as possible. You can turn off the MOVE (physical) and LOOK (visual) sections in Settings if they are not suitable for you, and continue using the rest of the app. The app also uses haptic feedback (vibration), which you can adjust or disable in your device settings.
Because PrayBreak is fundamentally a Christian, prayer-based app, the PRAY section is essential to its purpose and cannot be removed. This reflects the core religious nature of the app and is not intended to exclude anyone. If you need help adapting the app to your needs, contact us at [support contact email].
8. Eligibility
You must be at least 17 years old to use PrayBreak, consistent with the App’s mature subject matter. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the App only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian where required by law.
9. Your Account
You agree to provide accurate information, to keep your login credentials secure, and to notify us of any unauthorized use of your account. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
10. License to Use the App
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and non-sublicensable license to use the App for your personal, non-commercial use. We reserve all rights not expressly granted.
11. Intellectual Property
The App and all of its content, software, designs, text, graphics, and the PrayBreak name, logo, and branding are owned by PrayBreak or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not transfer any ownership to you.
12. Restrictions
You agree not to:
- Copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App.
- Scrape, harvest, or use bots or automated means to access the App or its data.
- Use the App or any of its content or data to train, develop, or improve any artificial-intelligence or machine-learning model without our prior written consent.
- Build a competing product, resell, or commercially exploit the App.
- Circumvent security, interfere with the App’s operation, or access it in a way that violates these Terms or the law.
13. Your Content
You retain ownership of the content you create in the App, such as journal and prayer entries and check-in data. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process, and display that content solely to operate and maintain the App for you. You are responsible for the content you submit and confirm you have the right to submit it.
14. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the App to:
- Violate any law or the rights of others.
- Upload or share unlawful, harmful, harassing, or infringing content.
- Share your account or impersonate others.
- Distribute spam, malware, or interfere with the App or its users.
15. Subscriptions, Billing, and Cancellation
PrayBreak may offer free and paid subscription features. Paid subscriptions are sold and processed through the Apple App Store, and payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage or cancel your subscription, and turn off auto-renewal, in your App Store account settings.
Any free trial converts to a paid subscription unless canceled before the trial ends. Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with the App Store’s terms and are not provided directly by PrayBreak, except where required by law. We may change subscription prices or offerings, with notice where required, and changes apply to future billing periods.
16. Third-Party Services and Apple
The App is made available through the Apple App Store. Apple is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the App or its content, but Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App. Your use of the App must also comply with the applicable App Store Terms of Service.
17. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP AND ALL CONTENT AND FEATURES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS,” “AS AVAILABLE,” AND “WITH ALL FAULTS,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.
18. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PRAYBREAK AND ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES, AND PARTNERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR EMOTIONAL DISTRESS OR ADDICTION-RELATED HARMS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).
19. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PrayBreak and its owners, employees, and partners from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the App, your content, or your violation of these Terms or the law.
20. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of [governing jurisdiction], without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing any claim, you agree to first contact us to seek an informal resolution. [Any binding-arbitration and class-action-waiver provisions to be finalized with counsel and confirmed for enforceability in your jurisdiction.]
21. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that creates legal or security risk. You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
22. Changes to the App and These Terms
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features of the App at any time. We may also update these Terms; if we make material changes, we will provide notice through the App, by email, or by posting the updated Terms. Your continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
23. Export Compliance
You agree to comply with all applicable export-control and sanctions laws and confirm that you are not located in a country or on a list subject to such restrictions that would prohibit your use of the App.
24. Entire Agreement and Severability
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and PrayBreak regarding the App. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect.
